Tesla Full Self-Driving (FSD), officially called "Full Self-Driving (Supervised)," is one of the most advanced driver assistance systems. It uses a combination of AI-powered software, eight exterior cameras for a 360-degree surround view, and a powerful FSD computer to assist with many everyday driving tasks. At its core, Tesla trains the system with billions of kilometers of real-world driving data to navigate precisely and safely—always under the active supervision of the driver (SAE Level 2). In Europe, the system has been called "Tesla Assisted Driving" (TAD) since October 9, 2026. EU-wide approval and approval in Germany are still pending (as of October 16, 2026); nine European countries have already granted national approval.
